BELIEVE IN THE POWER OF CARE
Healthcare Workers Rising is a growing movement of caregivers, clients, and community members who believe in the power of care. Together, we can build a care system that works for everyone - ensuring both patients and workers are able to live healthy, happy lives.
Our care system is broken.
Clients can’t get the care they need.
Over 19 million seniors need long term care care and that number is set to nearly double by 2050 - but there is a massive shortage of workers, leaving the elderly, disabled, and sick anxious about their future. Low-income clients are especially at risk of not getting the care they need due to cuts of Medicaid reimbursements
Workers can’t get the stability they need.
Earning poverty wages, lacking essential benefits such as health care or paid sick days, isolation & minimal training means home care workers are struggling to just get by.
LET’S CREATE A FAIR CARE SYSTEM!
To ensure home care services are of the highest quality, we need to build a strong support system for caregivers and clients, including better training opportunities, efficient job placement, better wages & benefits and clearer career pathways.
